Adoption, Can You Help? December 4, 2008

I have a lovely friend and her family that have a need. They want to adopt again. Blessed by their first adoption and seeing the need for so many children without families, they want to open their hearts and home again, to offer another child the chance to belong. They have applied for a little girl from Hong Kong. Her name is Kimmi.

As most of you know, adoption can be expensive. Though we can’t change how the system of adoptions work, we can have faith that the Lord will provide. He usually does this through people…like you and me. Here is the address for their blog, http://mullinsfamilyadoption.blogspot.com/

If any of you feel led to help them, you will be blessed.

But Jesus (Yeshua) said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19:14

OK, this should be the last post concerning Tabernacles. You should see all the pictures I took, hundreds!! I’m not going to do that, I’m just picking a few of my favorites.

Another new event we added to our celebration this year was the Iron Skillet Cook-off. It was as good as it sounds. The competition was fierce, and it was rumored that there were spies sent out to get a look-see. I even heard that a judge or two were offering to pre-taste and give advice…uh huh. Don’t believe me? Just look:

I’m not a food photographer. I have a new respect for them though, it wasn’t easy.

Are you getting hungry?

This is where it all went down.

Another judge savoring the aroma.

The next 2 pictures are the winning meal. I can’t remember what type of fish it was, but win, it did. The dessert was chocolate-covered turkey bacon. Looks different, tastes great!

Due to many hours spent in front of television cooking shows, the young couple emerges as winners.

It was a successful event, one that I hope will be repeated next year. I’ve already heard a few ideas…yum….

I’ve decided to leave you all with some of my favorite photos from my miscellaneous folder.

One last glimpse of our beautiful surroundings…
