Moving on to November. I don’t think I’ve ever paid so much attention to the change that Fall brings. Maybe it’s because I’m taking more pictures, or looking for great places to take pictures. Whatever the reason, I’m thankful. It’s been a beautiful Fall in Middle TN.
Growing up, (another story) my mother loved the drive up to Gatlinburg, TN and the Great Smokey Mountains. It was not a trip I looked forward to because it meant I was going to be in the car for a long time. Not only did we drive there, but to see the mountains and excellent scenery, you had to drive around. I used to get car sick, so long car trips were something I dreaded. My parents stopped here and there, to let my older brother and I get out. We immediately ran as far as we were allowed, for as long as they let us. We were slightly wild. We saw bears, but didn’t feed them, looked over cliffs, collected neat rocks and seeds, and stood still just long enough to get a few snapshots.
I remember my mother commenting on how beautiful everything was. Leaning up, I looked out the window and saw the same thing I’d seen for the past few hours…trees, more trees, a few creeks, trees, trees, and even more trees. Honestly, I don’t recall anything but green ones, even though we went during the Fall. Again, our perspective changes as we get older. So now, when we’re driving, I look out, voluntarily, to see the colors displayed across the mountain ridges near our home. Even the trees in yards, as we travel past them, become the object of my attention. So when I was asked to photograph a young couple for their Engagement pictures, I decided to take advantage of the loveliness of Autumn. Thank you mother, for teaching me, by example, to appreciate the beauty of change.

Creative juices flowed as we moved from one area of the yard to another. They had an artistic vision of what they wanted too. I learned a few things. I like it when you do something and it prompts the next person to say, “Oh, you know what else we could do.?.” That’s kind of how it was.
I love their expressions on this one…

Yip-eeeee!!!

Thank you both for allowing me to share this day with you, helping to capture a few memories that will last a lifetime.
“Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants around thy table.” Psalms 128:1-3
