I think it’s a great idea to get your picture made by your front door. It will be very meaningful later, if you move, or even if you’re still there.

We worked this shoot out by taking their family pictures at a weekend conference, at the wonderful Sheraton Music City Hotel, in Nashville, TN.

Their courtyard is quite beautiful and it gave us a lot of options.

The pansy’s were still in bloom, love those sweet flowers, so we had a splash of color here and there.

I’m pleased.

It was a little chilly, but everyone did so great.

I have 2 female cousins, younger than me.

I fell in love with them at first sight and started daydreaming of my hopes of having 2 sweet little girls like them, one day.

Maybe the Lord took notice of my tender dreams.

I’m just thankful He listened.

She turned 17 a few weeks ago.

We waited for one of them and went downtown to the Bicentennial Mall, near the Farmer’s Market.

These tress were in a cluster, so I placed her a little behind, where the sun was sun-spotting through…beautiful

How do I deal with my girls growing up?

I enjoy every day.

I try to spend as much time as I can with them, so hopefully, I’ll have very little regrets…I said hopefully.

I love them, I teach them, I discipline them, I listen to them, I watch them.

I try to see and bring out the best in them.

I pray for them all the time.

I read the Word to them and let them read it to me.

I don’t sweat the small stuff, most things will work themselves out as they go through their different seasons.

I laugh more than I cry. seriously.

I exercise and try to eat healthy, so I can keep up with them. I can’t fit into their clothes, I’m bigger boned…really. I am.

One more really important thing.

I love their father.

Well, you can guess that I had a lot of fun walking around downtown, looking for the light and discovering new places.

It was slightly cool, but the sun was smiling and that made it a perfect photo day.

We had a great time walking around Opryland Hotel.

He was curious and excited about the decorations, lights, music, and especially all the water and fish, ha!

I agree that every stage has its wonderfulness.

This stage for him, is…sweet, just like all the others.

It was a fantastic day!

I promise you that getting family pictures, or portraits, are an important, and yes, sometimes time-consuming activity, but well worth all the investments you make.

As time goes by so quickly, everyone changes and it’s the only way to capture that exact moment.

I took a lot of pictures of my girls growing up. I’m so glad, and I cherish every shot. Sometimes I think I should’ve taken more, ha ha!
I’m so glad you all took the time to let me stop time for you, if even on photo paper.

You are all handsome, beautiful, and so much fun to hang with.

Once December hits, then the weather becomes an issue.

We do have sunny days in December, but they are usually chilly, and in between rainy days, so it’s still a little yucky.

It would be wonderful if you could make a good home for these loving animals.

Please, please, if you already have animals, be responsible and have them neutered, if you have no plans of breeding them.

There are so many facilities that are very affordable and will even come to your neck of the woods for neutering.

If you are considering a pet, do research. Some animals are better suited for apartment life, while others need acres to run around in.

Most dogs are social and don’t like being penned up, away from human contact, or put in the back yard while you’re gone most of the time.

Consider your lifestyle and the needs of the animal, and hopefully, you’ll find a pet that works well with and you and your family.

She’s also a Senior and will graduate from High School, 2012.

I don’t want to compare her to anyone, but her style is…worship… and she’s been blessed in a mighty way.

We combined a time for pictures for her cd and promotions, etc, along with her Senior pictures.
I can tell you, we all had a great time.

I’ll start off by saying, that I had fun.

I had the pleasure of meeting everyone there, they are awesome servants, and the dogs and cats are wonderful as well.

These sweet dogs and cats are full of unique personalities, are well taken care of and loved by the staff and volunteers, and really really need a good home.

It was also sad.

I must encourage everyone to be responsible when it somes to your pets. Take the time to do research on what type of pet best meets your needs, please don’t go pick one up based purely on you or your kid’s/family’s emotions.

Dogs and cats take a lot of time and money. When the newness of the pet wears off, then the problems start for our society.
We are all affected by other’s lack of responsibility.

Now on to the photo shoot!

I don’t remember all their names, but this one is called Patches, because of the patches of colors in the fur.

There were four kittens in this little brood.

Their “necklaces” were constantly checked and loosened, they didn’t even have them on very long, we were quick about it

They seemed to stay still a little longer when the necklaces were on, otherwise, they all scrambled in different directions.

Some of them were really good posers.

Now, I truly believe that he could’ve posed for us for the rest of the afternoon. I love him in the hat!

Time was waltzing by as she spread her love of dance to those around her.

Then, a charming and dashing young man caught her eye.

He loved to watch her dance, and loved to help her with the recitals and ballets.

They were a perfect fit.

Their harmonies and melodies intertwined, creating their own special dance…ahhhhh!

After some time, this beautiful dancer developed a small, but noticeable plump belly. It grew and grew. She continued to dance, but carefully, for now she was going to be a mommy.

Happy days! This beautiful dancer gave birth to a precious baby girl.
Everyone was overjoyed and excited for this wonderful couple.

The dancer slowly came back to the dance world, toting her sweet bundle of loveliness with her. The grandmother, husband, family, and a few friends helped the dancer  juggle the two worlds.

Things were going good, until her handsome husband’s work took him to another kingdom, not too far away, but it was some distance.

Time apart was too much to bear, they needed for their family to be together.

Then, her belly grew plump again, (we all know what that means.)

Hallelujah! It’s another baby!

This time, it was a super cute baby boy.

Again, everyone laughed, hugged, and were happy for this budding family.

Hard decisions were made, and the couple decided that they did, in fact, need to be together (wise choice,)  so the beautiful dancer bid adieu to her current dancing world and moved to the other kingdom with her charming and hard-working husband.

Although we miss watching this beautiful dancer, and we miss her detailed and precise instructions, we know that her happily ever after is with her family.

Sooooooo, I was thrilled when she called me to say that she was coming to town for a little while, and could I take pictures of two sweet babies.

We were out in the back, where I hung a pink canopy up in the limb of a tree. It was a fun prop.

We walk back over to the canopy and she sees a caterpillar climbing up the side. She’s trying so hard to pick the caterpillar off to hold it. She loves bugs, it was funny but sad. She was so frustrated because it wouldn’t come off, I even tried to get it, ha!

We came back, closer to the house and she decides to dance and try out her splits.

This is another one that I just love.

And this one too, he is so cute.

We ended the session inside. Little Man played inside the  storage ottoman, while Sweet Pea filled our ears with delicate melodies.

It was a lovely evening and I truly enjoyed spending a little time together.

We will continue to miss you, Lea, that’s for sure, but your beautiful children and handsome husband are the next and continuing chapters of your life.

We can attempt to plan our lives, but, life happens while we are planning.

“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.” Proverbs 31:27-29

I personally know many families that fit into this lifestyle. They are all incredible families.

It takes prayer, thought, goals, time, and a great deal of effort from the entire family.

The harvest is worth it.

The Bride even wrote and sang an endearing song to her husband.

Now we’re moving on to the cake.

Now, it’s always a guess on my part, if they are going to smear the cake on each other or not. I didn’t really know.

I just kept my camera on them.

I think it’s funny how she kept her hand on the piece of cake throughout the entire event.

Have you ever meet someone that you could never forget? Someone that put their thumbprint on everything around them?

They are usually the very creative types, almost always out-going…extroverts.

This person is the bride.

Have you ever meet someone that never seems to get their feathers ruffled? They are laid back, easy going, steady and sure?

They are usually very responsible, considerate, reliable, and they can switch between being extroverted and introverted?

This person is the groom.

They are a fantastic combination, placed together by the hands of God. For real.

I told you that it was a beautiful wedding, but now I’m going to show you.

All the little details, coloring schemes…it was “her” and it was lovely and very personal to both of them.

we are also blessed with a few cool breaks here and there.

The forecast was calling for a 20% chance of rain. Our photoshoot was planned for 6:30pm.

It rained, then stopped.

The sky was overcast and I thought we were going to run out of sunlight.

It turned out to be the most delightful and perfect evening.

It cooled down and the light was so beautifully diffused because of the cloud coverage. Then, at the end, the sun came out.

Simply perfect.

Very cool shoes!

Not only is she incredibly beautiful, but she is very sweet and nice.

This spot is normally in the full sun, all day.

I love the Weeping Willow as the backdrop.

I also love this shot.

I love this one too, oh my!

This is another spot that is usually covered in full sun.

There is a nice variety of plants surrounding a few flat rocks. I was very excited to be able to use it.

This is an exciting and joyous time in their life.

It does take a while to get used to being married. To learn to live together. Starting your own way of doing things as a couple.

Hard but very rewarding work.

Their wedding is set for August. So we decided to get a few engagement pictures in.

I’m always excited when I work with couples that are committed to the Lord. We can plan and even work very very hard, but if our foundation is not on Yeshua/Jesus, all that work is for nothing.

This skirt and headband set is called “Old Time Grape.” If you have a taller toddler, this would be an ideal length. She’s on the petite side

The headbands are cut on the bias, so there is more give, but it’s still snug enough to stay on their heads. On some of the headbands, the flower is a pin that you can remove, on others, they are sewn/glued on.

We find fabric we like, and put it back to use later.

The creative process is half the fun. Matching stripes and dots, along with various shades of the same color.

All the skirts have surged seams, no fraying. Also, many are top-stitched for durability.

Jo Ann’s has a Prom Dress contest every year. Jordon entered it this year, with the help of one of our super-D-dooper, beautiful friends, to model it for us. Thank you special friend!!!!!

The dress is called, Dior Inspired with a Twist of Lime.

Hallie, my youngest daughter helped our model with her make-up and hair.

I just captured the beauty.

Jordon beaded the black lace with lime-green beads, then glued and sewed it onto the mask.

I think Jordon did a fantastic job on the dress.

Hallie brought out the youthful elegance in our model with the perfect balance in make-up, and the spiral-wispy bun that made me want to grow my hair out so she could do it for me.

Thanks also to our model, for being patient (being a model is a lot of work, really!) and being super sweet and beautiful. You wore the dress with elegance and grace, just like Jordon envisioned.

I know.

We did have a birthday party.

She had a great time turning 19, surrounded by her family and friends.

So, we finally cleared our calendars, picked a semi-comfortable afternoon, and headed for Lebanon to take our annual birthday pictures. (in June)

I really enjoy taking pictures of my kids, always have.

No fake smiles here. She’s genuinely a very happy young lady.

Her sister fixed her hair. (great job!)

I love her hair in soft curls.

She really liked this white brick building.

The industrial side of Lebanon has some neat buildings.

I exposed for her face, so the sky behind her looks white.

We saw this partially dried-up creek bed, and decided to climb down to this spot. It was very cool indeed.

This one is my favorite.

Moving along to our last location.

She saw this as we were driving by in the car.

When I was 12, my heart’s desire was to grow up and have little girls.

My desire is still to have “little girls” but that’s not reality. They are growing up.

So I see now, that time is spent on how and what you decide to spend it on. I’m thankful that I spent a lot of time with my 2 daughters.

Because of you, my life is fuller and richer than I could have ever imagined.

A dedicated mother and father, possibly siblings, maybe even grandparents, or aunts and uncles, all working in a righteous and positive way, to ensure their “child” is well taken care of. They love this child unconditionally, they discipline him or her in love,  and affirm him or her by their affections.

There is so much more to it, but you get my point.

Sometimes we have biological children, and often, they are children that are grafted into our hearts. Nonetheless, they are “ours.”

This family is a mixture, a wonderful mixture.

Their dedication to each other makes me feel so good. I’m glad I know them.

Now, that’s a good-looking mom and dad.

I purposely overexposed the background. I liked all the pastels colors coming from it and how it made her stand out. wow!

There’s nothing like a very cool black and white, of a good-looking guy, giving you his serious look. I love this one and the next.

He did survive this fall/jump. There is a trampoline below, that he landed on. I’ll do a lot to get “the shot.” I’m just glad that he was the one jumping off of the roof, instead of me. Cool shot.

We ended the session with a few shots of mom. Sometimes she just needs to be pampered and fussed over. It was a lot of fun, yes we giggled.
